Tape & float
Tape and float in Corpus Christi, finished to your spec.
Every wall we finish is the reference for our next job. That's how it's been from the start: general contractors on the coast who trust us with their walls, and tell the next GC.

What we call it
Tape and float is what we call drywall finishing here in Texas: the work between hung board and a wall worth painting.
Some call it tape and bed, or taping and finishing. Same trade. Same standard.
Working with us
Why GCs hand us their walls.
Where we do it
Tape and float for every kind of building.
Every building asks something different of its walls. Here's what we keep in mind on each.

Scope
What we finish, start to paint-ready.
New builds, renovations and finish-out. We take the board as it's hung and leave a wall that's ready for paint, texture or wallcovering.
- Levels 0 to 5, room by room, to spec
- New construction, renovation and finish-out
- Ready for paint, texture or wallcovering
- Patch, repair and punch, including others' work
- Occupied hospitals, schools and offices
Layer by layer
Every layer, built for the light.
Your spec names the level. We build every wall up to it, and a Level 5 wall stays flat even when the sun comes in low across it.

Questions
Tape and float, answered.
What does tape and float mean?
It's what we call drywall finishing here in Texas: everything it takes to turn hung drywall into a smooth wall that's ready for paint, texture or wallcovering. You'll also hear it called tape and bed, or taping and finishing.
Which drywall finish level does my project need?
Your spec sets it, room by room. Level 1 is for concealed spaces such as above ceilings, Level 2 for back-of-house areas and tile backing, Level 3 for walls getting heavy texture, Level 4 for most finished rooms with flat paint, light texture or wallcovering, and Level 5 for gloss paint and critical lighting.
When should a project specify a Level 5 finish?
Where every flaw would show: gloss or semi-gloss paint, critical lighting such as light raking across a wall from windows or wall-wash fixtures, and long, uninterrupted sight lines in lobbies, corridors and showrooms. Level 5 costs more and takes longer, so put it where people will see it.
Can one subcontractor do the drywall finishing and the painting?
Yes. We do tape and float, texture and paint, so you get one number, one call, and nobody pointing fingers at punch.
Do you work in occupied buildings?
Yes. We work in occupied hospitals, schools and offices and follow dust and infection-control procedures.
Can you match existing walls in a renovation?
Yes. On renovations and tenant finish-out we finish new work to blend with the walls around it, and match the existing texture.
Do you finish drywall for wallcovering?
Yes. Level 4 is the usual minimum under wallcovering, and we finish to whatever level your spec calls for.
Do you work after hours?
Yes, when the schedule needs it. We work Monday to Saturday, and after hours or long hours when that's what it takes to hit your dates.
Can you fix or finish over another crew's work?
Yes. We handle repairs, punch lists, and walls that weren't finished to spec.
Where do you work?
Corpus Christi and the Coastal Bend, including Nueces, San Patricio, Aransas, Kleberg, Jim Wells, Refugio and Bee counties, plus McAllen, Harlingen and Brownsville in the Rio Grande Valley.
